Oyster Roast for the Birds
January 17 | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

You eat the oysters – the birds eat the shells! Our annual Oyster Roast returns on January 17, 2026.
The evening celebrates North Carolina’s oyster season with all-you-can-eat oysters and shrimp, as well as non-seafood and vegetarian dishes. Proceeds from ticket sales support the park’s conservation and education programs, but the Oyster Roast also helps the birds in a much more immediate way. After the event, the discarded oyster shells will be collected, cleaned, and placed in the aviaries to provide an important source of calcium for many of the park’s feathered residents throughout the breeding season.
Menu Includes:
- Steamed and raw oyster bar
- Steamed shrimp
- Pork BBQ sliders
- Veggie cakes
- Coleslaw
- Hushpuppies
- Sweet tea, unsweet tea and bottled water
Alcoholic beverages will not be available on site this year, but guests 21+ may bring their own.
