DESCRIPTION:Join us this spring for a brand new event! The Flock Party at Sylvan Heights Bird Park is a free\, family-friendly festival for our members\, visitors\, and community! Enjoy games\, activities\, food trucks\, animal encounters\, and family fun at Sylvan Heights Bird Park.  \n\n\n\nLocal food trucks will provide fun foods including hot dogs\, burgers\, cotton candy\, popcorn\, lemonade\, dirty sodas\, and kona ice.   \n\n\n\nActivities include a large bounce house\, games\, crafts\, educational tables\, dance zone\, bubble area\, and bird-themed games for prizes. \n\n\n\nVendors will include local artisans and businesses with jewelry\, 3D printed art\, pottery\, baked goods\, and nature related items.  \n\n\n\nCurrent and new Sylvan Heights members will receive extra bonuses and giveaways during the event! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdmission\n\n\n\nThis event will take place outside the entrance of Sylvan Heights Bird Park\, and there is no admission fee to enter the Flock Party. Tickets for games and face painting must be purchased. If you would like to enter the park\, paid admission or membership is required. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAttention local businesses and organizations!\n\n\n\nLocal vendors\, businesses\, and artisans are invited to set up a table with family-friendly activities and information. DESCRIPTION:A very special behind-the-scenes tour for Sylvan Heights members at the Aviculturist level or higher! \n\n\n\nEnjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the Sylvan Heights Avian Breeding Center led by Sylvan Heights staff\, and brunch at Sylvan Heights Bird Park! This is the ultimate day for waterfowl enthusiasts. Guests can marvel at being shown how to “candle” an egg and witness new ducklings hatching. The Sylvan Heights Avian Breeding Center is not open to the public\, so this is a very special opportunity to meet the newest members of our flock. \n\n\n\nThis event is free\, and is open to upper-level Sylvan Heights members only. \n\n\n\nYou must be a member of Sylvan Heights Bird Park at the Aviculturist Level or higher to participate in this event. A membership with the NC Zoo\, NC Aquariums\, or other reciprocating facilities will not be accepted for registration for this event. \n\n\n\nIf you have an Individual\, Individual Plus\, Family\, or Family Plus membership\, you will need to upgrade your membership to Aviculturist Level or higher to attend Duckling Day. If you will need assistance to participate in the tour\, please contact us at least 2 days before the event and we will be happy to arrange transportation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat will I see on the tour? \n\n\n\nGuided by a Sylvan Heights staff member\, guests will have the opportunity to see the Sylvan Heights Avian Breeding Center\, which is not typically open to the public. You will see the process of rearing and caring for rare and endangered waterfowl species\, and meet Sylvan Heights’ newest ducklings! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow long do the tours last? \n\n\n\nEach tour lasts around 45 – 60 minutes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCan I bring guests to Duckling Day? \n\n\n\nIn addition to the adults and children/grandchildren included in your membership\, you may bring up to two guests to Duckling Day. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen is brunch available? \n\n\n\nBrunch and coffee will be available in the Sylvan Heights Visitor Center beginning at 9:00 a.m. You can choose to enjoy brunch either before or after your tour! (Guests on the 9:00 a.m. tour may enjoy brunch after their tour.)
