Sylvan Heights offers fun and engaging outreach programs for classrooms, libraries, community groups, and events. Let us bring the learning to you through our outreach programs on a variety of environmental topics including birds and wetlands. Information and pricing for our programs can be found below.

CLASSROOM OUTREACH
Our classroom outreach programs provide hands-on and grade specific learning opportunities without having to leave your school! Classroom outreach programs are available seasonally August-February. Outreach programs are available Tuesday-Friday and must be booked a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the program date.
Maximum participants: 30
Program Duration: 30-45 minutes
Program Fees: Classroom outreach programs are $125 per program plus mileage fees.
SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAM
Designed just for libraries, these group programs are a great way for families to experience the natural world. Our annual Summer Reading Programs are directly correlated to The Collaborative Summer Library Program’s yearly theme and feature STEM focused programs with live animal presentations. Summer library programs are available June-August. Outreach programs are available Tuesday-Friday and must be booked a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the program date.

Program fee: Library outreach programs are $125 per program plus mileage fees.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Let Sylvan Heights be a part of your next community function! Our community outreach is perfect for festivals, community groups, special events. Community outreach includes 1-2 live animals (weather permitting), promotional materials, and informative displays.
Community outreach events are available seasonally August-February and are subject to availability. There is a setup fee of $250 for community outreach, plus mileage fees.
Please note: for the safety of our ambassador birds, our time at community outreach events is limited to a maximum of 4 hours per day.
MILEAGE FEES
Mileage fees will be added to outreach program fees, and are measured from our location in Scotland Neck, NC.
30 miles or less round-trip: No mileage fee
31-120 miles round trip: $1.00 per mile
Over 120 miles round trip: $1.50 per mile
